All about Delta-9, Delta-8,, and delta-10 THC

If you’re someone who is in the world of cannabis, you know that the products are different these days. Whether it’s oils, dabs, or even vapes, it’s gotten a lot of recognition for the variety of changes. Two types that have recently come up, are delta 8 and delta 10 variants of THC, and they do offer different benefits that you might not get from regular delta=9 THC that’s out there.

They’re similar to regular THC, but they’re what we call isomers, which means that it’s similar, but the atoms are arranged differently, and the carbon bonds create different effects. Plus, they’re able to skirt the legal loopholes that regular delta=9 THC has, so it’s something that a lot of people like about it.

What Delta 9 THC is

If you’re someone who knows cannabis as something that gets you high, then you’re familiar with delta-9 THC. This is one that’s known for being psychoactive, but also to treat vomiting, nausea, and the like, and it’s great for relieving pain. It’s very plentiful in the cannabis plant, and usually, the THC that’s in this is pretty strong.  It’s something that’s also a part of creating delta 8 and delta 10 THC products. This is because, when THC Begins to degrade, it creates these types.

What Delta- 8 is

Basically, this is one that's synthesized, and it’s grown in tons of ways, and is super popular because of the way the laws get skirted in terms of the cannabis types that are out there. Some states are able to sell this despite regular marijuana being illegal because it’s labeled this.

They’re technically legal, but the thing is, they are not regulated. They are considered legal though, simply because they’re not properly regulated and are made from hemp plants, so it’ll give you a high legally, since it is from this.

This came about because a lot of people were growing hemp rich in CBD, and they then took this same CBD, exposed this to acetone and hexane, and then, it created the delta 8 that we know of today.

It does also exist organically in the cannabis plant, and it’s one that’s exclusively synthesized directly from the CBD strains that are out there.  The downside to this, is the presence of metals that were found in this, which does create concern for people who are interested in using this.

What Delta 10 is

Then there is delta 10, which is basically another isomer from THC, but it’s specifically from the delta 8 products. This is something that has the same structure, and the makeup, but different molecule distribution.

This is one that does also occur on a natural level, but it’s in much smaller amounts. It’s super rare though, so you’re not going to find stuff that’s purely delta 10, but usually is blended with cannabigerol, or cannabichromene, in order to give it enough cannabinoid within this.

This is one that’s been a popular one to use, but the thing is, it’s definitely an accident, because this wasn’t what people were looking for.  Essentially, all three of these things do help the body, but they work differently. Delta 9 is basically regular THC, which stimulates your CB1 receptor.

Delta-8 was found that it can connect to the receptors as well, but it’s not as strong, and there is some effectiveness for decreasing tumors, nausea, vomiting, and boosting the appetite.

Delta 10 works to stimulate acetylcholine, which improves the memory, and neuroplasticity. They all do things, but they do work in different ways to help.
